Privacy
SoloKanban is made by SixCentral. The short version: your boards, columns and cards live in your own browser and are never sent to us or anyone else. There are no accounts, no ads and no tracking across sites, and this website only counts visits anonymously, without cookies.
The app and your data
SoloKanban runs entirely in your browser. Everything you create (boards, columns, cards, descriptions and your theme choice) is saved in your browser's local storage on your own device, and only there.
- Nothing is uploaded. There is no server that receives your boards, and no account to create. We could not read your data even if we wanted to, because we never get it.
- No cookies. Local storage is not a cookie and is never sent along with requests to this website.
- It stays until you remove it. Clearing this site's data in your browser (or using a private window) erases your boards. That is why SoloKanban has a Backup button, so you can keep a copy yourself.
- Backups are just files. Backup creates a JSON file that your browser saves to your own device, and Import reads a file you choose, right inside your browser. Neither sends anything over the internet. Where you keep your backup files is up to you.
- Other tabs. If you have SoloKanban open in two tabs of the same browser, they notice each other's changes through the browser itself. Nothing leaves your device for that either.
This website
This site is plain pages with no cookies, no ads and no third-party scripts, fonts or trackers, apart from one optional exception described below under "Donations". Nothing about visitors is sold or shared with anyone.
Privacy-first visitor counting. We don't use Google or any other third-party tracker. To see roughly how many people visit and which pages are read, we run our own copy of Umami, an open-source analytics tool, on a server we control, so the numbers never go to anyone else. It is cookie-less and anonymous: it doesn't store your IP address or any personal information, and it can't follow you from one website to another.
- For each visit it records the page that was opened, the site that sent you here (if any), your browser and operating system, the type and screen size of your device, your language, and an approximate location such as your country. None of this identifies you.
- Your IP address is only used while your visit is being handled, to work out that rough location. It is not stored with the statistics.
- Your boards, cards and anything you type into SoloKanban are never part of these statistics. They never leave your browser.
Separately, as with any website, the server this site is hosted on may keep standard access logs (such as IP address, time and page or file requested) for security and troubleshooting. We do not use them to identify or track visitors.
Donations
SoloKanban is free. Next to the Backup button there is an optional coffee cup that lets you leave a tip through Ko-fi.
- Nothing from Ko-fi is loaded when you simply use or visit SoloKanban. Only when you click the cup does a window open that shows Ko-fi's donation form, and your browser then connects to Ko-fi (including your IP address), as when you visit their site.
- Closing the window removes the form again. Payments are handled by Ko-fi and its payment provider, never by SoloKanban, and we do not see your payment details.
- Ko-fi has its own privacy policy that applies from the moment the window opens. If you prefer, the cup also works as a normal link that opens Ko-fi in a new tab.
